i've installed the latest service pack, sp3, and im able to play grim fandango, but superbike 2000 does not work. what do you guys do, dual boot with win98se?? or maybe xp?

Doesn't Win2k have that compatibility mode option too? Right click on the shortcut for Superbike and go to properties. Maybe you can set it to Win98 compatibility mode.

yes you can I did just firn for 2 years and so did my brother. my roomate runs 2k and plays everything just fine

nope, just xp. but thanks for trying

run "regsvr32 %systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll" = you'll get the compatibility mode/tab.

sweet, i got the tab now, but the game still don't work. nice though. gonna save this. =)

Certain games will not run at all, some will work with the compatibility mode, and some have no problems whatsoever... I cannot even get NFS4 to install. X-Wing Alliance is horribly choppy, even though it runs fine on WinME installed on the same machine. I guess it depends on the game.

You can search NT Compatible to see if it will run and/or how to get it to run.

sweet site bro. i downloaded the app compatiblity toolkit from microsoft website. there is a fix, but i don't know how to exactly us the toolkit. anyone use this before?

I have separate parititions for W98 (gaming) and W2K (work) then use Boot Magic to pick the active partition.

Another method would be to set up a separate W9x box with voodoo3 and Monster MX300 or other Aureal soundcard and buy a $30 KVM. You get glide support, better DOS soundblaster emulation than SB cards, and you'd only need a 300 - 500 MHZ CPU for 99% of the games (anything needing faster almost certainly has W2K / XP support).

There is a compatibility mode update for 2K that works the same as XP. I think you have to download it from MS. This was talked about some time ago. Anybody remember where to get it?

I think the SP3 has the latest compatability update included. There is a download available at MS but it's dated 10/2000.
