For PS3 if it matters. Is the game and all the DLC worth the $30 it costs on PSN?
I have it on the PC.
It's aiiiight. It got boring for me after a bit, all of the little towns seem the same and the gameplay gets monotonous.
$30? I'd skip it. Might pick it up for half that.
YMMV of course. There's a PC demo IIRC...
I love me some JC2. I raped...excuse me, "played" the game on PC. JC2 is one of those games that I find myself going back to every once in a while to try to get 100% on. Im the type of person who makes a game within a game, if you know what I mean. I take monster trucks and try scaling mountains. I also try jumping out of planes and landing onto other planes. Shit like that. Thats how I play JC2. Anyways, I had a blast with this game and still do. Only negative I have to say is the fact that there is no multiplayer element.
Awesome if you like free roam games with little restrictions. The actual missions and scripted game part of it sucks... It's repetitive, voce acting is the worst I've heard in a long time, and it's short. HOWEVER it's the best time I've had with a game yet. Flying around blowing stuff up didn't get old, and exploring the massive map is a good time. You have to make your own fun but IMO it's worth it.
Agreed. Be imaginative, and the game has tons to offer.
Let's say no dlc, but $14-15. Worth it then? Is the dlc any good?
JC2 is one of those games only worth playing on the PC. The mods are crazy fun. I spent countless hours just doing whacky sandbox stuff, like driving around finding as many people as possible to rope to my firetruck with the multi-rope mod, then attaching it to a jet taking off with the unbreakable line mod. Grappling two cars together is fun too, usually sends one flying off and pulls the other with it. If only it had a coop mode to make all the things you can do much more fun and dynamic
The DLC for the pc version is free.
It's a fantastic game--OH MAN! Follow the steps of conversion.
1)Obligatory gif posts:
2) Watch this AMAZING video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnRtdZWoIbw
3) Read my review:
4) If you're still interested, I conducted an interview with Lead Game Designer Peter Johansson and Lead Programmer Fredrick Larsson from Avalanche. I have to say, I'm particularly proud of this interview because (at the time) it was pretty revealing.
I'd get it. It will get boring...eventually. All games do. But the fun you will have before that happens is phenomenal. You play the plot up to a point and then the world becomes pure sandbox. At that point, you can do story missions or just raise hell for the next 100 hours or so working on getting that completion percentage up. Def worth $30. IMO it was worth full price, but thats me.
It looks like a COOL and WILD game!
Is the ps3 dlc worth it?
I'd skip the DLC, it doesn't add much and you'll most likely spend more time in the game screwing around than actually trying to complete it. Its a fun game if you don't take it too seriously and have time to kill.
Picked it up for $7(PC) and it's fun for going bananas every once in a while. That's about it.
Great game. Played on 360 no dlc, should be able to get th disc for cheap though.
played a little on my friends console but ..Neh
will better go and play it there than to pay for the money; not worth the barging i think
Great game....I've owned it on the 360 first. Then bought it from Amazon for next to nothing (PC version).
