damn it I've got too many passwords now. I usually choose one from a pool of some passwords that are easy to remember for me but sometimes when logging in I just don't know which it is!

I know there are password management utilties but keeping those passwords neatly saved somewhere doesn't feel very safe...

so how do you deal with all your passwords?

I leave them all in one MS Excell file named "passwords" and save it on my desktop.

(I'm joking)

Memory, repetition of muscle movements.

Funny thing about that repetition thing... Back when I was still memorizing which of my passwords logged me onto the university computers, I'd always guess the wrong one...

To this day, I still enter the wrong one first every time, not because I'm thinking it's the right one, but because that's the way my fingers do it.

my pool of passwords comes from a long phrase. it's easy to remember the phrase, so it's easy to remember the passwords.

I use the "forgot your password link" for almost everything at least every month or so. I can only keep track of 3-4 passes. After that, then I hope I have a link in my email, because I almost always fill in false information.

I'm really tempted to use something like that. In fact right now I use a small notepad (paper) somewhat hidden in my room.... I think the number of accounts I have approaches 40-50 or something. and I like to keep my passwords varied and difficult to guess. It just becomes too much esp that my long term memory doesn't seem too good at times

Same. Not the best thing if someone were to figure out what it was, but oh well..

I have about 3 passwords I use...EXCEPT for stuff like my Quicken Account and other sensitive data.

Do I really care if someone has my AT password? No.
