How do you guys keep backups of your Firefox bookmarks?

I've been using Xmarks for more than 4 years now to backup my bookmarks. Recently it has been very buggy, like when I load a new FF profile and sync them back, the favicons are all gone. And worst of all, sometimes some bookmarks go missing.

Is there a better way of backing up bookmarks?

I use the builtin tools, and export/import as html. I think I've only restored once, and if memory serves, it worked well enough. I didn't see any need to do anything different.

I manually backup my Firefox bookmarks regularly through Firefox itself. Ie; Bookmarks->Show All Bookmarks->Import and Backup->Backup, and it never saves my favicons. But I never lose any.

Browser bookmarks are fairly low priority, IMO, so not something that even needs to be backed up daily. Back them up manually once a month using the built in export to HTML. On the 1st of every month I go through a short backup procedure on my servers and main desktop computer. This is on the checklist.

Why not use Firefox Sync? You can just sync your bookmarks, and login each time you have a new instance of Firefox (ie. getting a new computer, or installing an OS over again, etc.)

I have FF sync setup between my laptop and desktop and it seems to work ok. Although I don't fully wipe ff often, but when i do need to re-install i turn it on, setup the new device and sync

I sometimes does not sync right away but will eventually usually within 10 min but have had it faster as well

Yes, it's really easy to setup, and you don't have to worry about backing up your bookmarks manually...You can have it sync tabs, bookmarks, passwords, etc. (with the option to choose what to sync). Chrome also has a similar feature - if you sign into your Google account, you have the option to sync bookmarks, and such.

Firefox automatically backs up the bookmarks on a regular basis, I just backup that folder as part of my normal backup.

C:\Users\PCOwner\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\qjd52n0p.default\bookmarkbackups

MozBackup
that's what I used for years but somehow it keeps messing up my Bookmarks favicons nowadays seems like it doesn't play well with the latest Firefoxx iterations with their new crappy Australis builds. What a shame MozBackup hasn't been updated in 2 years :(

I also tried FEBE but that thing needs a training course to get around its 100 options when all you want to do is simply backup an entire Firefox profile.
