Do you guys just hook it up to the 80mm converter, then just let the clips push it against the heatsink, or is therea secure way to do this?

I believe he is referring to the thermaltake panaflo rip off with the gills cut into the side. That fan only has the bottom screw hole mounts. Its not very easy to mount that fan since the SLK947U utilizes the top fan mounts of the fans you mount onto it.

1. you could be creative and try some sort of plastic piece inbetween the fan and SLK947U that gives a ~22 mm boost in height.

2. Try a normal fan.

Leave out the converter, and use the wires that are the same width as the holes, put them in the lowest holes of the hs. It hugs the fan real nice. The round part of the fan that is.

Ah ok, I just basically used the converter and used the same wires as the tornado and had it hugging the heatsink.

just go get a decent 92mm fan... something that pushes around 55CFM and 30-35 dBA, you can find one for under $10

Mmmm maybe I'll try that, seemed like alot of leveraage to be out there. I'll do it if I settle on putting it on it's side. Cool!

flip the fan over, the thermalright heatsinks work just as well with intake or exhaust setups, it all depends on your case airflow.
