I have no idea and have never done it but my guess is that you get on your desktop and hit 'print screen', open 'paint' and find the file and transfer the immage to a (your)web page. That's probably easy but I don't know how since I haven't so far had a desire for one.

Hey gittyup
The reason that I said that, recently I had posted some pictures over at another site that I go to
and a lot the viewers had said that they couldn't see the picture !!

OK, Ithink I figured it out :D

this one works

That is geocities, and I don't even have problems with the links, the way some people do. Here's how I put the pictures up:

1: (only have to do this once) sign up for a page
2: go to Page Builder link and click on it. I just use a blank page
3: once pagebuilder loads, look at the top of the work area, and click insert
4: run your pointer down until it is on picture and click that
5: in the window that pops up, there should be a button that says upload. click on that, then click browse and go find the desktop pic, where ever you saved it at
6: once the pic is uploaded, select it, click OK, and then click Save.

Geocities will save the page, then put it up for you to view. Double-click on the address in the address bar to highlight it, then right-click and select copy. then you can come back here (or where ever you want to post the pic) and paste the link in a reply.

Nate

PS - forgot a few little things: to get a pic of the desktop, hit the Printscreen button. Also, you may need to change the default image size that Geocities uses; otherwise it will squish or stretch your picture to fit. I think you have to click Format, and then Page Size. Something like that.

Hope this helps :)

Doh! something else I forgot - you have to paste & save the screenshot once you hit the printscreen button. You can use the MS paint program that comes with windows. Just open the program, then select edit, then paste. One warning though; I'm not sure, but I think this will save the pic as a bitmap, and those suckers can be huge. Don't remember if you can save as a J-PEG or not. if not, you may want to give Image Forge a try. It's a free program, is much more useful than that goofy little paint program. This is what I use all the time

Still not working, sorry. I tried clicking on it and cut'n'paste. All I got was an ad-filled Geocities page.

tallest1, those are some nice screenshots, what program is that?

I think it's kind of amusing that you have your buddy list divided up into guys and women. nothing wrong with that, but it gave me a good chuckle.

Further down, I got a 'Undercover Cops' section. ;) j/k

All that is under Windows. I use Litestep (free and extremely stable) with the LiteGnome theme. (You can find themes and wallpapers like those at sites like Litestep.net (Offline) and DeviantArt.com. I use Windowblinds for the window look but it eats up my RAM like a mofo.
