How do you guys afford all your heavy duty hardware?

If you watch the motherboard forum frequently you'll notice there is a thread in regards to the A8N32 SLI Deluxe motherboard. There are at least several posts where someone says they just ordered one or have one on order. How do you guys afford such heavy duty equipment when you already have say an A8N Premium or a DFI motherboard which the newest Opteron that's doing 3GHZ on air?

It's hard to fathom that people just have that much money to burn. I mean it's feasible and I believe it but sometimes it's like where do you guys get your money for all this stuff?

What job do you have now? What type of college degree do you have? How hard have you worked so that you can enjoy all these perks of dropping $250-300 every three to four months on the newest processor/motherboard?

Some people buy new cars at say $30k
Now imagine buying a used car at $5k.
That's $25 you have over the other guy.
That's 20 YEARS of dropping $300 every 3 to 4 months...

$300 every three months... yeah, they're obviously big spenders. It totally makes sense that you question their caviar-and-champagne lifestyles. Jeez, $100 per month on a hobby -- that's for millionaires alright.

I totally understand you work for the money. What do you do if you don't mind me asking? How'd you get there? What type of schooling do you have? I currently work as a PC Tech and bring home about $600-700 every two weeks after taxes.

Well I bring home maybe $900-1k before taxes. I work on commission so it depends week to week.

well part of the reason i work hard is so i can enjoy the fruits of my labor. if i buy an xbox360 or a new computer every month or two its because whats the f-ing point of working so hard if you cant do what you want in your free time. just my opinion

Has a n00b hijacked your account? These are very odd questions.

A lot of the people that drop money so easily have very few other obligations, like people have mentioned, no wife, kids, etc. And besides that, a lot of them are probably very young college grads making decent money out of college, or college kids/high school kids working close to full time and blowing all their money on their computer.

Pretty easy to figure out...

i personally have an X2 4400 i bought from the FS here. i also have a dual Opteron system i bought here as well.

for me, it's not only a hobby but a living. i will probably sell the dual opterons off as part of a server tho.

it drives my wife crazy because i keep selling her pc out from under her and then i'll replace it with a better one, but it drives her crazy because i don't always restore all her files for her right away.

LOL sounds like me. Except I only have one and sometimes I have to reinstall and I don't get around to putting all my girlfriend's files back right away.
