Use the quick navigation icon at the far right of the toolbar immediately above the Recent Activity.

This icon?

That's pretty hidden for most to know. I feel like the banner and Home link should go to the subdomain forums.anandtech.com

There's also a "Menu" at the top left of each page that'll take you to the forums home page.
To be honest, when i get stuck like that i've been altering the URL to take me home.

I can maybe see the banner taking you to the main site but the home icon should at least take to the main forums page.

On the page John linked to, there are 4 one click buttons to take you to the main site. To get back the the forums it's at least 2 clicks away. Doesn't sound like much but a lot of people a complaining about the navigation of the new layout.

Edit: You want the button circled at the top left.

If you click the link I gave in my OP that I'm refering to, you will see the issue. This is what I get and the only way to back out is the quick navigation icon I shown in my second post or altering the URL. I had to alter the URL on a few occasions for other pages as well. Real PITA, but that quick Nav icon is better than nothing I guess.

I guess we all need to remember that there are different themes being used here so what i'm(or you) seeing is not what other members might be seeing. Potentially one bad thing about user submitted themes.

Just make that home icon take you to the forums main page would be a start.

In my pic I was using the tan style. I disabled stylish but I still see the banner like in my pic with the home, forums and members buttons right below on the top left. The forums button would take you to the forum list. I guess the big anandtech banner stayed behind even after disabling stylish. Everything else is blindingly white like in your pic. Strange. I guess if I started with a clean browser cache and disabled stylish I would see what you do. I'm too lazy to do that so I believe you and your pic and can see how it would be consfusing.

John is using the experimental VB style. We're not all seeing the same thing.

Yes, I hid that menu on the VB style. I thought the benefit of space saved outweighed the problems.
