For example, the new Pentax K10D's battery grip does not have a handstrap attachment point, and to many people who use handstraps this is a devastating omission.
How does one go about improving a product like this? From design to finding a manufacturor?
FWIW, a company called Opteka did almost the same thing to the Rebel XT grip. The official Canon Rebel XT grip was selling for $150 but Opteka came out with an identical but generic version that they sold for much cheaper.
