How do you go about asking someone about their breakup...

Person A broke up with Person B. Person A is a really good friend and Person B has been saying to other people that Person A is "blah blah" after the breakup...which is not true. How do i ask Person B what she feels about the breakup and stuff without gettin her suspicious?
