I was wondering what tweaks or special settings did you do to windows to get a boost in performance?

One way that I saw a great deal of improvement was to change the way that Windows looks. I think you go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, and Settings under Performance. Just set it for best performance, and you'll see a change in responsiveness.
