How do you get Surround Sound out of Klipsch 4.1 ?

I just bought Klipsch 4.1 and a Game Theater XP (the latter started to immediately fall apart as I explained in another thread).

Now, how do I get actual surround sound out of this, so I can hear something BEHIND me (say, in a game, when the sound is supposed to be coming from "behind" the player)? Is there a utility like a little Helicopter demo where it flies around and helps you figure out if the surround sound is working?

Also, do I need to use that "Surround" knob on the speaker? Do I need to turn it down or up?

Thanks!

i dont have a 4.1. i assume that the surround knob you mentioned is front-rear fadder? if so leaving it in the middle is good.
for games, make sure you enable EAX or A3D in the games, should be able to do that in option in the games.
as for testing if the surround working or not.... um, i have SB Live, and in one of the program that comes with the card ahs the testing feature, maybe you can find a similar thing like that.

With my SB live card I had to turn on the rear speakers in the SB software.
