How Do you get past lvl 8 in this game!!

Christ...I made it to 8 w/out having a goal scored on me....
Get to 8 and I couldn't score a single one. 26470 was my score
 
Well I got 2 points on 8, so I guess it is possible

Edit: Got 2 points again! grrr. The trick that seems to be working is keep the ball bouncing as horizontal as possible (makes it easier for you to track) until it builds up lots of speed, then hit a really curving ball that bounces up and down. Hopefully you get lucky and he misses.
