Hi

How do you get past a black screen at start up?

Monitor is OK and swapped to check.

Everthing is running in 4 day old P4 - HDD going, mobo has green light on, fans going, cd ok, floppy ok

Simply cant get past black screen. Ran perfectly for 4 days then black screen

I tried to put on an AGP video card, but it would not show a screen. Removed the vid card since then, black screen

Would appreciate a little help

Cheers

Geoff

Is this a pre-built system from HP, Dell, Compaq, etc, or is it a custom system you built? If it's custom, could you list out your parts list (including power supply brand & model) to help us get our gears turning 😀 If it's pre-built, could you give the brand & model number.

Wanna know something funny. My new system I built with a 9600XT will not send a signal to my monitor to make it kick back on from a reboot. So, everything is running fine, yet I have no picture and the monitor is black. I turn the monitor off then on and it gives me a picture. Kind of a pain, but it works.

Try turning the monitor on/off. I was kicking myself before I figured this out.
