Yes you do need IPX installed..(bear with me here, i haven't play'd LAN SC in a while)

You need to add IPX, in your Local Area Connection Properties...But first, may a ask which OS?

K.

Lets see if i remember this right, and if anyone can correct me if i'm explaining this worng.

Install IPX
1. right click on the My network places Icon.
2. select the adapter, right click on it and select properties
3. Look and See if IPX is listed in the big white box.
4. If not then, click install, select protocal, and look for IPX (might say NWIPX something)
5. disable the nic, renable the nic and you should be good to go

Sounds good to me, I had to set it up this weekend too for a gaming sess. I don't think you have to disable the nic though, simply clicking ok should do it you don't need to reboot with Win2K either.

Word of warning. SC has issues with some machines and win2k. I couldn't get it to work at all. Had to go back to 98 to make it work.

No problems with SC and Win9x/Win2k/WinXP here. All you have to do is enable IPX.

Me too, I use Win2K and friend of mine was on 98SE.

Rkonster : You have the latest service pack for Win2K installed?
