How do you get around MS's patch for the blahblah@blahblah.com

I'm trying to read my webmail and it logs me in via the blahblah:blahblah@blah.com and my IE just automatically goes to a not found page.

Any ideas?

I don't think there's an easy way around that, as the patch seems to break the established http standard. If you can log into your webmail via Mozilla (or some derivative) or Opera, try that. The real solution to the problem will be for Microsoft to get a freakin' clue, but until then you'll either have to wait for the application side to come up with an effective workaround, or switch browsers.

Guys, MS's most recent critical update prevents you from entering a username and password in a URL.

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME_PASSWORD_DISABLE]
"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000000
"explorer.exe"=dword:00000000

Copy, Paste into notepad, name the file blahblah.reg and double click...try it out then~

can you change the @ for another character like + ?

my webmail lets me login with blah+blah.com

i think it allows some other characters to be used in place of the @ also

is that the key symbol it doesn't like?

People still use IE? Firefox has achieved full IE functionality, with the exception of Bastardized HTML compatability (LEARN TO WRITE HTML PROPERLY YOU SACKNUTS) and automatic plugin installation (Waaah, you have to clickie the "browse" button and go to your firefox directory. SO FREAKING DIFFICULT!)

In other words, Mozilla is perfectly fine if the administrator and web developer are not lazy motherfsckers.
