How do you get 5.1 sound through broadcast TV ?

deftron

I see logos on the Fox baseball games about it being in HD with 5.1 sound...

I know you need a HDTV receiver for the HD part ,

but how do you pick up the 5.1 sound ?

Is it only available with digital cable ... any way to get it over the air ?

Don't think you can get it over air. Box is the only option. Although I maybe incorrect because 5.1 might be broadcast with overair HDTV.

yes you can recieve 5.1 dolby digital with over the air HD. The sound is part of the HD signal
On your HD tuner, you hook up the digital audio output to the digital audio input of your audio reciever. Of course you need to own an audio reciever too.

Does anyone know if HD capute cards for PC's (like the MyHD card)

also recieve the 5.1 audio signal?

I don't have one, but from what I understand, you just plug in
a regular over the air antenna (rabbit ears or upgrade to Zenith Silver Sensor type)

Don't buy the WinTV-HD, the software support from what I've read over at AVS is terrible and practically non-existent now. Consider the ATI HDTV Wonder, FusionHDTV, or MyHD
