how do you find out why a thread got locked?

I recently had a thread locked. I have no idea why, which is kind of frustrating because i wanted input on it. When i asked why in the forum issues, that thread was locked. No explanation, just up and locked. Is there someone to ask why? I need to know what I did wrong!

Though I did not lock the aforementioned thread, I imagine it was locked because of the direction the thread was headed. The subject matter seemed to be too "mature" for the late-night ATOT crowd.
