I am having a hard time figuring out the difference between all these models of Palm's. Anyn eknow a good place to go to figure this out so I can tell why some cost $149 and others cost $499.

well some palms hve color screens (the "c's&quot😉 some the 7 (IIV) have built in wireless modems, the v's and Vx's are styled differntly , the Vx has more mem, the m100's are least power full for college kids or poor deperate executives, the handsprings have a gameboy like add on slot on the back, and the ones designated pocket pc's (but are usually more than 500 bux) are 486's in your hand

What feature(s) of the Palm series do you like right now?

Many of us have a Palm I-II-III-IV, etc, so perhaps we can help you eliminate the ones you most likely WON'T need. Rather than help you pick the one you may need.

Process of elimination may help you narrow your search and research.

So what features:

Do you like?
Do you want?
Do you think you will actually use?
Do you think may help with business? or all personal?
Do you want integration with Outlook, and other programs?
Do you plan to download every Palm program you can find and try it out for a week or two?

lol, nice list huh? I have helped many business people decide on which Palm to get. (can you tell) 🙂

I'd be happy to help you narrow your search...

I have no need for a wireless connection. It will primarily be an address book and more importantly, Mobile Calender that syncs up with my desktop/laptop. It needs to be THIN because I do not waear a suit at work much now (business casual) so I do not have a suit coat pocket tto carry it with me. My work e-mail has a dial up connection on a windows NT server (secure I hear) so may be I would consider whether they offer the ability to dial up a normal phon eline to download e-mail from our server when I am on the road. That is all I can think of as reasons I need one.

Go to PC Magazine (www.pcmag.com) page and look for hand held computer and organizer review. This is a good place to start. I am using a Palm V and it is good enough for your kind of application. But Palm V has no expansion capability. It's your call.

I've got a Palm Vx that I've been using for over a year and I've never gotten even close to filling the 8 MB of RAM. Given your requirements, I'd say the Palm V probably has the form factor you want (I wear mine in a leather case on my belt, but it would easily fit into a shirt pocket).
