How do you figure out what kind of ram you have by chip numbers?

Not exactly - but you can usually go to the website of the manufacturer of the chips and look them up there. I have done that before.
 
Tharyn, posted a nice little program in this thread that will give you a lot of information about your memory if you have it installed.

I found out one of my modules was cas2 and wouldn't have known it without running the program. Long story on how I ended up with that module.
