I have a friend who likes to read forums that posts spoilers. Then he texts me the spoiler. At first I thought he just liked to irritate me. Then, it just dawned on me he is just a dumbass that has no filter over the words that come out his head. He was always like that I suppose.

What do you guys think?

If
they
use spoiler tags it only bothers me a little. After all that is what the tags
are
for. On the other hand, my curiosity often gets the best of me and I end up peeking anyway. While that is annoying, I have to accept that it is my own fault for peeking behind something clearly labeled as a spoiler. It does mean that we all have to be careful about how we use the spoiler tags because if we start to regularly put things that are NOT spoilers behind that tag then it will just lead to a bastardization of what the spoiler tag is all about. This is the worst in TV threads as I might have watched the most recent episode but others have knowledge from the book or from other shows (like the Talking Dead) which I don't watch. So if they are putting things from the most recent episode into spoiler tags, but other people are putting information from these other sources into spoiler tags then the entire point of the tags is lost, and I obviously want to talk about the recent episode, that is why I came into the thread, but I don't want to learn about things coming in future episodes which I have not watched yet. It is still better then the
assholes
who just put the spoilers in the thread with out any tags at all.

Putting information from the most current episode into spoiler tags would also lead to the problem of half the thread ending up being put behind spoiler tags since we are the most interested in talking about a show soon after an episode has aired, and no one is going to go back and remove those tags after the next episode airs.go back and remove those tags after the next episode airs.
