Love Football, hate all the hype and inane micro-analysis that surrounds it. ESPN and NFL films is killing the sport for me.

The ultra slow highlight films and the slo-mo cold weather shots of the linemen with fog of their breath billowing out like so many buffalo ready to stampede. Please...

If you like commericials you'll love football:
pre-game mindless banter by ex-players
commerical
kickoff (oh-oh injury on the kickoff)
commerical
3 and out, punt, runback
commerical
QB doesnt like defense-time out
commerical
interception
commerical

Ha ok good post. I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of adverts, it may not be for me.

I understand your point and I have no problem with these sites having an american flavour, the issue is that people insist america is the best! When it's fine, but no better or worse than any other country. I'm all for being patriotic but there's no point being stupid/ xenophobic (please note: I'm not calling you a stupid xenophobe, as you made a very reasonable point, but other people on this forum come across that way).

Yeah, many of us have been raised to be a bit... overenthusiastic about our country. I love America, and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else, but we've taken the core ethics and ideas that made us a great nation and replaced them with hot air, ineptitude, corruption, and lethargy.

Anyway, I'm backing out of the P&N portion of this thread. Check out that game I mentioned if you get the chance.

I've traveled through Europe quite a bit, have family in England, dad was stationed overseas in Germany for 2 years, and I would never ever disrespect my country by saying that I'd rather live someplace else. Sorry, but you guys on the far side of the pond have got some serious problems of your own. By the way, John, France might have helped us out in the beginning, but we would have still spoken the same language. If we hadn't come and helped your asses TWICE you'd be speaking German right now. Fact.

That said, you want a real sport, take up rowing. It's probably the worst spectator sport out there for sideline fans and you'll never see it on TV other than the Olympics, but it is one of the hardest athletic events out there (I would say cross country skiing and marathon running are up there with it). You spend 5-7 minutes pulling on an oar with every fiber in your body, no rests, no substitutions, just you and your buddies vs. the water, trying to conquer 2km as quickly as possible. And while most people think rowers are just big dumb brutes, rowing takes a finesse that takes a lifetime to learn. So while most athletes in professional sports are done by 30, a rower is just hitting his/her peak.

Oh, and neckarb, I agree with everyone who says you're a troll. Even your sig shows that you've put thought into a way to refute everyone's comments.

Oh my, a superman if he does say so himself, a man of many physical feats if he does tell about them himself, i wonder, what are gents as these known as? Bullshitters? Is that the word?

Every sane man knows Roosevelts speech, they know that the US didn't do SHIT until Japan attacked and Germany declared war on their coward arses, in fact, just one week before that Roosevelt said, and i quote "we will not get involved in Europes war".

We had been at war for years before that, you didn't come aboard for anything else than to join in somewhat because you can't bloody well say no when one nation attacks you and another declares war on you, can you?

In other words, back to grade school, basic history, learn it, love it, shut up.

All countries are not equal, but surely you know all neftard comments are silly!

Troll more, it is surprising how much trolling trolls accomplish while trolling this one member while complaining about him commenting on topic in threads.

Very true, England rules the waves, US rules the sky, Russia rules the mob...
Just so how many carriers does England have?

Waves? Try to get a bit more modern, like wake the fuck up to the last, oh, say 50 years?

FYI, you don't rule shits. You can't even rule the squatters in your own house.

Enough to end the USA if we really wanted to, or China, or most of Europe. We never took part of the deals you made with the Soviets.

FYI neckarb, this is what's known as a bandwagon fan here in the US.
I was an 8 year old kid when I chose which team I liked, and since then I've stuck with them, how is that being a bandwagon fan?

Go fuck yourself.

Just take a look, it's not like it's private intel or anything...

I actually thought this was common knowledge.
Take a look at what? You've got to be more specific there mate.

And what is common knowledge, like Englishmen with bad teeth? Or there are too many nanny boys in the UK?

Son, i have better things to do than to argue with pre teen twats about nothing.

I made it quite clear, if you cannot get that you are either too young or too fucked up, either way, this discussion is over.

Preteen twat, that's you. Sit your presumptuous ass down son.

I say when the discussion is over. And you know NOTHING beyond your ignorance and arrogance as shown in threads over and over.

I loved football when I was a kid. Now, I fall asleep when I watch it alone at home and when I go out to watch a game I end up talking to people and not really watching it. But then this is true for all sports for me now.

Bwaahaahaahaa ........
Seriously???

You know, "Russia rules the mob" would have made any man with even ONE braincell guess that i was jesting.

So are you a fucking retard or just exceptionally stupid?

That said, yeah, the US is pretty much useless without NATO support and England could pretty much just destroy the US if we really wanted to, but we'd leave the white house open so you could invade iceland over the attack and go hunting for WMD's there...

It'd be amusing, we could make a reality show out of it, you know like you did when you bombed Iraq and people at home were crapping their pants while screaming USA FUCK YEAH "zoom in on blood and gore OMG zoom out a nipple can't be shown on national tv"

Yes, i'm making fun of your arrogance and stupidity, so what? You can't be the biggest fuck up of a nation in the world and not expect that to happen, can you?

Oh my, a superman if he does say so himself, a man of many physical feats if he does tell about them himself, i wonder, what are gents as these known as? Bullshitters? Is that the word?

Congratulations, you've described yourself in a nutshell.

Every sane man knows Roosevelts speech, they know that the US didn't do SHIT until Japan attacked and Germany declared war on their coward arses, in fact, just one week before that Roosevelt said, and i quote "we will not get involved in Europes war".

Didn't do shit? Really? So the $50 BILLION that the US supplied to its allies during the Lend-Lease Act doesn't count for anything? How about the American aviators who came and flew with your countrymen during the Battle for Britain? How long would the UK have lasted without those supplies? No one can be sure, but without the US, Germany would have gotten in eventually. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

We had been at war for years before that, you didn't come aboard for anything else than to join in somewhat because you can't bloody well say no when one nation attacks you and another declares war on you, can you?

The war had been going for 2 years by the time we entered the war. We had "joined in" as you say when our allies requested aid. Following the isolationist policy that the US had adopted after WWI we agreed to supply our allies with vital war materials.

In other words, back to grade school, basic history, learn it, love it, shut up.

Thanks for the personal attack. It outlined how little you know. You are either incredibly arrogant or incredibly stupid, and either way I feel sorry for anyone serving besides you.

Also, Britain hasn't ruled the waves since the Battleship became extinct at the beginning of World War II. Let's take a little look at the current difference in forces between the US and the Royal Navy.

Carriers: US has 11, UK has 2
Cruisers: US has 22, UK has 0
Destroyers: US has 57, UK has 7
Frigates: US has 32 (including LCS), UK has 17
Submarines: US has 53 attack submarines, 14 ballistic missile submarines, 4 guided missile submarines, UK has 8 attack submarines, 4 ballistic missile submarines.
Amphibious Assault Ships: US has 10, UK has 1
Landing Platform Docks (LPD): US has 21, UK has 2

Yea, pretty sure that the colonists kick your ass on the water.

Next time please back up your useless drivel with facts.
