How do you feel about Euthanasia?

I've witnessed many sad stories concerning the elderly where they are no longer wanted at home, maybe because they are too old to help themselves, or because their actions are just not "normal" anymore.

I feel bad when I see these poor people with no money trying to afford expensive medicines, vitamins and clothing.
And this is just for those who make it in good health. Imagine those who live their entire lives in sickness and worse.

I don't know how I'd feel when I get older, but I really wouldn't like to be around to have the same things happen to me later on in life.

Wouldn't it be easier and better if we were given the chance to go peacefully when the time is right?

Imagine being 70 or so and making such decision, going to a room, enjoy a good meal, good music, even good sex and then fall asleep for a very long time!

i absolutely support it. There's no reason why people should be able to decide their own fate when they have nothing to live for. Life's worth living for when there IS something worth living for. Otherwise, it's repetition for the worst.

I'm 100% for it. I can't imagine living life that, it'd have to truly suck.
I really think it's rediculous that suicide is illegal.

There's pro's and con's to each side of the issue.

But I understand where you're coming from, and if it was your own decision and not based off of someone's else's decision then I don't see why not really.

I support it when the person suffering is capable of making their own decision, or has previously made their wishes clear. I don't think that it's a decision any human being ought to make for another.

Youth in Asia: they're alright I guess. It's tough to try to preserve your own culture while being heavily influenced by the almighty superior Canucks.

I think you're a little confused. Euthanasia by definition does not require the consent of the person being killed. And because of that, I am very much against it. We shouldn't be murdering off sick old folks just because they're a burden.
Assisted suicide however I am very much in favor of. But that is not the same as euthanasia.
