How do you feel about cold weather?

I spent the better part of today digging out from the most recent snowfall (no nice guys with plows today). I was out there wearing 2 shirts, a hoody plus my heavy coat. I can't stand being cold, its like torture to me. While I was out there freezing, I got to thinking about my buddy who loves this stuff. He would go outside to smoke without a coat on when the temp was well below freezing.

So how many of you are like me and hate the cold? How many polar bears do we have?

I don't really mind the cold as long as there's snow..and I wouldn't mind snow if I had a snowmobile. However, I don't. So...winter is not my favorite season.

It's cheaper to cool than it is to heat, probably due just to the temperature difference between preferred room temp and outdoor temp.

But I like the cold because:
- there's a limit to how much insulation you can remove
- wearing insulation is fairly easy and effective
- no insects in the summer
- I hate feeling sweaty and gross from humidity and heat

In general though, I prefer being inside. The cold is a bit better than hot weather, but it's still not any fun.

Extreme cold is interesting for a day or so. Dreary mid 30s-40s wet cold sucks.

I lived in NH until I was 16, HATED the cold but didn't mind the heat (as much).

Live in Colorado now but it's just as bad from the alt and the wind chill.

I grew up in Saudi Arabia, moved to Southern India at 13. All my life, I've had to deal with these ridiculous upper 110 summers.

You enjoy your ball-freezing tundra, I'll enjoy my face-melting summers.

:)

A little cold for a little while is ok, but prolonged temperatures approaching single digits of zero is madness. I simply can't bear months of cold, snow, etc.

I love it. I just wish we got some snow... then I'd be really happy.

what? Philly has no snow? drive north.

Fuck that. I'm already driving to Maryland in January. No need for two long drives.

I live in Florida.

Make two cards for each of the tags cold, very cold, hot, very hot, unbearably hot, and only one for the card just right. Pick two, the first is your morning weather and the second is your night weather. Always add humidity, and if the weather is cold, add lots of wind. Theres your winter weather.

Does not apply for south Florida.

'cold' and 'just right'- because if there's a 'very cold', then 'cold' isn't actually cold.

<- used to live in Florida. Now lives in NH.
