Still have an All In One but no landline. Occasionally need to send a FAX (for some reason scan won't do) so I am not really interested in signing up for an online account. Is there a FAX module for a cell phone?
Works well in Windows if you have a scanner (I have a Canon AIO without fax) and also offers a decent cell-phone app for Android ... never tried the IOS version.
I rarely need to send a fax but when I do (and am too lazy to leave the house) I sign up for a "free trial", send it then quit before getting charged. Be warned it's on the pricey side if you decide not to bail out.
You could also snag something like a Magic-Jack or other VOIP device ... most will allow faxing although they are not as reliable as a "stand-alone" connected to a landline or even Efax etc for that matter.
We still have a dedicate land line with a dedicate stand alone fax machine for our department and other departments have the similar setup. Don't ask me why. I am not the CEO of the company.
To the OP, if you only need to fax once or twice a year, just go to Office Depot or copy place and they will do it for you for a few bucks.
As others have said you can find a decent eFax app for your phone. My sister just used one to send a document to a mortgage company, for free. This was on Android. Only required payment if you wanted to receive faxes as well.
