how do you entertain yourself at a wedding?

I'm going to my girlfriend's friends' wedding today, and with that and the associated receptions and things I'll be there for about 9 hours. Any tips for surviving such an ordeal? I don't have any wacky tobacky so that's not an option, and I figure if I get drunk beforehand I'll be feeling really crappy by the end.

Unfortunately chasing the bridesmaids is not an option, either, which is typically why you would want to get drunk at the reception, anyway. I'm scared!

Oh I think drinking will most definitely be in, I'm just not sure what to do with myself after that either (though usually it's not such an issue once you get there).

Laugh I should bring my gameboy, that'd teach my girlfriend real good ;)

You pace your drinking such that you maintain a constant buzz without going overboard and ending up like these guys. And you pretty much stay out of the way... Try to find someone in the same boat as you and just have a conversation about something... And you pretty much just deal with it.

If you can't get out of going, try to leave early. Otherwise, drink large amounts of alcohol.

Oh well, I think that's the only one so far that I could get away with. I'm not driving so I can't get lost on the way. I'll just have to look for bored bridesmaid's boyfriends and commiserate. yay!

At my wedding one of the games was musical chairs - it is actually a blast if you get a bunch of willing adults. . .

Twister is great, too.

Buddy of mine had pinatas at his wedding . . .

Well if you were single I would say, scan for hotties... but you have your hottie already.

Hmm, I generally just kill time at the bar with friends but I generally don't get sucked into the girlfriend wedding thing. Find a way out!
