How do you enable the extra 4 pipes on your 6800 with rivatuner?

yep 😀 now try some games, and if there is no artifacts, then you are good to go 😀
also, you might want to consider overclocking your core speed/memory to get another boost. ive heard of 6800NU turned into full Ultras!

Erm, must've heard wrong.

NU's can never become Ultras due to the amount of memory difference (128 vs. 256). Also, the GDDR3 high-speed memory chips used on the GT's and Ultra's allow it to be clocked 1000+ MHz. You try pushing your NU memory to those speeds and you're gonna have some frying going on. 😉

I see it says you only have 5 VP's enabled. Try enabling the masked vertex shader as well.

its entirely possible to get that ddr up to round abouts 900 if u get a gem of a card.....thats good enough id say, like DDR2 over DDR1 GDDR3 does have higher latencies etc shame riva tuner cant magic another 128mb of it!

and def get that extra vertex unlocked!

I've heard of NU's that have turned into 9600SE's!? Yupppp, their mem speeds been turned down to 400Mhz ohhhhayyyhhhaaa.

um, the guide doesn't exactly tell you how to make all 16 pipes enabled and all vertex shaders, but maybe i can't find it. can some1 help please?

can a PCI-E version 6800 NU have it's pipes unlocked?
Nope. It's a native 12-pipe/5 VS GPU, so there's nothing to unlock. Plus, with their slower memory speed and the excellent 6600GT and X800XL surrounding it in terms of price, it's really the odd card out at its current price point.

well i'm glad to say there are no artifacts and i unlocked the pipelines successfully 😀

Try unlocking your vertex shader as well. You won't notice a difference in gameplay I'd suspect, but might as well go all the way 🙂

i fiddled around carefully, and here is what i got. im confused on if the 16 pipes and 6 vps are on so please chekc these links: http://tinypic.com/2lnuxu

please tell me if everythuing is right or wrong. i so far don't see any artifacts, but i am not 100 percent sure.

You're still just running 12 pipes and 5 vertex shaders. Rivatuner is trying to unlock them but is not able to for some reason. Are you running the latest version of Rivatuner v 2.0 RC 15.4? If not go to guru3d.com and get it, 15.2 would not work on my card. Side note, had major stability issues with unlocking and 15.3 Rivatuner, 15.4 is so stable in the games that crashed before (knocks on wood).

that forward helped alot. i can notice a bit of dif in play, but not much. but yet again its onyl a soft mod, your not changing the physical things on the card. please, tell me how you can make the regular 6800 like an ultra!!!!! my only problem, left is the card gettign too hot, because stock cooling sucks!

Totally impossible to make a 6800nu into a GT or Ultra. The GT and Ultra have 256mb of GDDR3 RAM which allows for much higher clock speeds. It's pretty much impossible to get your NU up to more than 925MHz (and even THAT ITSELF is extremely hard) and the GT stocks with 1000MHz on the mem. The best thing you can do is unlock the pipes and voltmod the hell out of your card to get the highest clock speeds out of your core / mem. Even then, you're not going to be able to get it to GT / Ultra speeds.
