How do you edit an .exe files icon? Is there an application for this? I remember doing it years ago with a program that allowed you to import bitmaps for the icon image.

One way to do it is with a Hex Editor. Many editors have features that allow you to export/import icons. I don't know of any other programs off the top of my head that allow you to do that.

There's also a program called Microangelo that will do it.

If you're just dealing with the icon for SHORTCUTS to .exe's, that's a simple right click, choose properties, then shortcut tab..."change icon."

oh yeah, and if you want to use a bitmap for an icon, just take a smaller sized bitmap you like and simply re-name the .bmp to .ico

The absolute easiest way to do it is with Microangelo. I do it all the time . . . every icon I have is customized with MuAngelo including those for Recycle Bin, IE, and most Windows .EXE apps.
