This is my first year working, and need to file my taxes for the first time. How do you do your taxes?
Professional Accountant?
Online (where?)
Through a friend who's familiar with taxes?
Use software ?

Which would be a smart and convenient way of filing taxes for a first timer?

If it's your first time, the find a friend who has filed his/her taxes before and let them help you while showing you a thing or two. And you can visit the IRS website for information. Text

what is the details of your life?

rent/own

self employed or W2

did you donate alot? major medical? large move?

Most of the time a first year worker has just a W2 and can simply do a 1040EZ. Takes maybe 20 mins.

If you are self employed and want to maximize deductions it takes a stack of form about 1/4" thick and about 20 hours or more 🙂

Check into CPA's tax thread stickied at the top of Off Topic.

If you qualify to use the 1040EZ form then nothing is easier than using Telefile. It's fast and free.

I used to do it this way when I was younger.
Turbotax now.

I used h+r block's tax software.. cost 30 bucks total to buy and submit, but it helped out a bunch with some deductions. worth a 825 dollar return imho.
