How do you do a timedemo in Unreal Tournament

I need to know how to do a time demo in Unreal Tournament.
I understand that you bring down the console and type demoplay or timedemo 1 but it then says need level number
What do I type in the console window ?

UT is a bad game to benchmark. It reflects more Unreal's compatibility with your vid card than your video card's power. eg. A Savage 4 can easily outperform a GeForce in UT.

I was saying that you have to start a game after you open UT before you can type those commands into the console (the commands being 'demoplay', 'timedemo 1', etc (without the quotes)).
