I still don't see an HD forum, so I guess I have to post here. Does anyone know how to disable "Acoustic Management" on a SERIAL ATA HD? This is a Maxtor SATA 6Y120M0, and Sandra said that "Acoustic Management" can hurt performance and should be disabled. I found the Maxtor utility for this, but apparently it's only for IDE drives or SATA drives on an Intel controller! The utility said "no drives found". The only SATA controller on an AN7 mobo is the Si3112.
