How do you disable 1.44 floppy drives completely?

I tried removing it from the device manager but everytime the computer boots up, it auto-detects it. Hehe. Anyway, is there a way?

Biggs: Short of removing it from your computer and/or disabling it from your BIOS, not really. (Hint: do those two things and you'll have it permanently disabled)

go to bios and disable it through there. If you are not sure how to do it get your manual that came with your motherboard and it should give you some specific "how to" alter your bios. you will probably have to disable it in floppy seek [bios feature setup] and in your [standard cmos setup].

burn it:):)

ok nevermind, just disable it in your bios, or take off the floppy controller in the back of the floppy.
