How do you detail your engine?

I am showing my Integra to a guy from work tomorrow morning, and I want to clean it up some.

My plan was to cover the distributor and battery with plastic, spray degreaser, use a low pressure stream from a hose to rinse it off, and spray some CD-2 engine brite in there. Anything I should consider before I do it?

seriously though, watch it with the degreasers. last time I did it, i made sure to cover ALL my tubes and such really well...it'll eat through it like a recovering anorexic in a mall food court

hmmm..the can doesn't say anything about that. Bastages.

hmmm. I've never had a problem with spraying degreasers on hoses and such. But then again, I always rinse the stuff off too.

all ya need is APC Honda Valve COVER!!! remember to add Vtec emblems on the exhaust manifold! 🙂

actually, i was told by my teacher that you should not spray water into the engine bay in case it shorts out any electric component.

Spray Simple Green over everything and use a pressure washer. Just don't hit the distributor, fuse box or alternator and you're golden.

Then you'll want to use an hose dressing to make the hoses and black plastic shine.

Just spray it with the purple stuff, castrol super clean, or one of the copy cats. Hose it off, and you're done.

I did my truck last week. It took less than five minutes.
