How do you deal with people chewing gum loudly at work?

You're at the office, and some guy in the next cube is chewing gum like a cow, so loud that you can't concentrate. And I mean LOUD.

What do you do?

It would bother me, but you don't have an option for what I would do.

I would eat potato chips loudly or any other food that crunches.

I had a guy that sat at the desk next to me for a while who would chew ALL of his food with his mouth wide open. He made the most disgusting noises, I hope you never have to hear him eating a salad . He would also eat non-stop all day long.

Bring a radio and listen to some music quietly.

tell them bluntly and without tact to stop chomping on their chewing gum.

"Dude, chew your gum more quietly"

"Dude, close your mouth when you are eating your food"

If they are the type that takes their gum out and re-uses it, sprinkle some pepper on it. :evil:

If they have a microphone on their desk connect it to the office muzak system and mix in some echo and pitch shift down if available.

Put 20 mousetraps under their desk where their feet go.

I shut my door. My office is right near the kitchen, and I HATE IT when people chew loudly on the way back to their office. Sometimes I can even hear people chewing while they're still in the kitchen, and it's 25 feet away and around two corners!

Man, if it were quiet enough in here that I could hear someone chewing gum I'd have mort important things to worry about

between all the fans running to cool the servers in the room behind me, the talking and the general ambient noise of the building I can barely hear someone 20 feet away

I think you complain wayy too much about your coworkers. I think you are just abnormally bothered by little things that most people dont even notice.

Put a fart machine under his chair and hide it well. Every time he chews loudly, press the button. Eventually he'll stop chewing loudly.
