How do you create a smoothy?

Ya we have a juicer so definitely used to kale, spinach, beets, etc. Was just making a quick one with what we had on hand.

One of my favorite things about the Blendtec is you don't have to juice beforehand...just throw it in & it liquifies! Learned that when I tried to blend eggs & ham slices and would up with liquified pink eggs 😀

Ha... I'm sold on the laziness factor. No waiting and pushing fruit down, no 5 minute cleaning of 10 pieces. Stuff goes in, stuff go blend, blender basically cleans itself.

I have been drinking green smothies a little over 1 month now. My normal ingredients are frozen banana, frozen pineapple with with 2 hand full of baby kale, baby spinach or baby chard and water. My goal isn't to lose weight but to eat healthier. I'm replacing 1 meal either being breakfast, lunch or dinner with a green smoothie daily. One thing I didn't expect is my skin has been turning soft and smooth especially my face. I'm not a fast food eater, I guess my normal diet before didnt include enough fruits and veggies. For those looking to improve you appearance try the green smoothie, your face will thank you. Because of the added fiber, I'm Shi++ing like a MF.

Can someone clear something up for me. I read somewhere that since drinking green smoothies makes the body heathy. The body will become more efficient and therefore requires less calories per day to function and the result is one may gain weight with same amount calories intake per day.

Yup! And just add water & a drop of dish soap and blend for a minute then rinse to clean. Easiest appliance to clean ever!

lunch: orange, pineapple, 1/2 banana, kale smoothie. Almost too sweet (I used a cup of orange juice as opposed water), but very delicious.

Now I just need some of our passion fruit and mangoes to ripen up so I can use the fresh stuff. Should have a bunch of sapodilla to use in a few months too.

last night i froze some orange juice.

tomorrow I intend to blend it with orange hi-c or something similar. See if it turns into an Orange Julius.

You need an egg white for that:

I've made it before. It's pretty good, if you like Orange Juliuses  Note: raw eggs are safe if they're pasteurized:

Ok seriously, how inferior is the Nutri Bullet/Magic Bullet compared to the Vitamix/Blendtec? I mean is it 90% there for 33% of the cost? If it's close but not quite at 1/3rd the cost that's good enough for me, but if it's like a Night/Day comparison then I'll probably hold off or get a used Blendtec/Vitamix on eBay..

I think I can help out here. I have a vitamix and nutribullet, along with a handful of other blenders. The adage "buy once cry once" comes in to play here, like most consumer goods. If you have the means to get a vitamix, get one.

Lately I mix various fruit, ice, fart powder, a little water and a little truvia.

It's kind of like buying an aluminum Macbook vs. a plastic Toshiba for $199 at Best Buy. Both get the job done, but one is going to last forever. Bullet blenders are nice for small servings that you can take in a to-go cup though. But the Vitamix/Blendtec level will truly liquify stuff, no chucks. I've literally liquified meat in it before (don't ask 😀). My Blendtec is 5 or 10 years old now & I beat on it pretty much daily. It's a tank! Basically, if you never want to think about a blender again, invest in a Blendtec (or Vitamix).

frozen banannas? yhmm

I make them for the kids. usually frozen strawberries, milk, ice and bannanas with a little protein powder.

they have them nearly every morning in the summer.

will have to try frozen nanners

Want best bang for your buck and a powerful Made in the USA blender that obliterates ice cubes?

Wait for another refurb Vitamix for $249 with free shipping, actually it might still be available? If you order, let me know if it still works as I know a few co-workers who want one.

We ordered a refurb Vitamix a few months ago and freaking love it. Being able to make your own Jamba Juice-like smoothies without tons of sugar and $4.50 price tag is priceless. Kaido provided me with some amazing recipes, guides and inspiration. Order now, you will not regret it.

Summer is upon us which means mango overload in my yard.

Whole lot of peeling/slicing, but I should be set on frozen mango chunks for smoothies for many months to come. Probably dozens and dozens more to be frozen as well.

I've been doing kale, frozen banana, frozen raspberries OR strawberries, almond milk, peanut butter for the past few weeks. looks disgusting, tastes delicious. FWIW - I don't have a fancy blender. I do it all in a $20 black & decker blender and it works just fine for me...

last week i started making blended smoothies for my 2nd protein shake of the day, usually right after i get back from the gym.

all i do is first make my normal protein shake (almond milk + 2 scoops of whey) and shake it up. then i pour it into a blender and toss in a bunch of frozen strawberries and blend it up.

tastes so good and is very filling, although it's good since it is just extra fruit in there.

initially i put the powder in the blender and blended it all up, but the powder would stick to the sides so i first shake it up in a shaker cup, then pour it into the blender with the strawberries. so simple but so good.
