How do you cool down after a workout/exercise?? I can't stop sweating!!

I run on a treadmill, and after I'm done I'm sweating like a hog. I drink lots of ice cold water and then take a cold shower. Afterwards I'm still sweating. Is there an effective way to stop sweating so much?

Besides not working out 🙂
 
When you finish running, walk for 5-10 minutes. Also, you're not supposed to drink ice cold water after running. Drink room temp or cold water without ice.
 
After three or four hours of badminton I am sweating like a dog too. But that stops when I stop playing badminton.... 🙂

Hmm....maybe I'll try walking longer after I'm done. Why aren't you supposed to drink ice cold water?

Don't worry about sweating so much... heck, I sweat like a pig too. I just drink tons of water to compensate for the water loss... drink till my pee is clear.

Walking the cool down period (a few minutes depending on how fast and far you ran) helps... and then drink lotsa water. The amount you sweat is mostly genetic factors and your metabolism and that crap like that. Also, I think I read somewhere that it does take a while for your body temperature to drop (about an hour or so) after a workout. "Don't sweat it." 😀

I don't remember where I read that. It might have something to do with absorption. Warmer water may get back into your system faster than cold.
