How do you convert +/- viewing angle specs to ### degrees specs?

I was curious how to compare how this monitor with a spec of 170 degrees Horizontal, 160 degrees vertical

to a dell 2001FP that is listed with a +/- 88 degree vertical and +/- 88 degree horizontal

how do you convert one measure to the other?

I'm not sure, but I would assume you'd just divide the westinghouse figures by two... or alternatively multiply the dell figures by two.

So the Dell would be 176 vertical / 176 horizontal?

That sounds right and makes sense.

Not that you should be relying on those figures anyway, but multiply it by two to get the bidirectional viewing angle. One may be done at 5:1 contrast, and the other at 10:1 contrast however.

The Westinghouse 22" will have a significantly lower viewing angle than the 2001FP.
