I need to get rid of Win2k because it's not working at all with my system. I get a lot of weird problems and worst of all the gaming aspect really sucks because Win2k doesn't support VIA AGP drivers. So I'm planning on installing windows Me to see if it works better, but I need Fat32 back, but can't get it back using FDISK. Need help. Thanks!

You should be able to boot the machine with a bootable floppy, use Fdisk to delete the NTFS partition (assuming it's the only one, if not you've got other problems), and then create a new partition, reboot and format it. If you have multiple partitions, Fdisk may not be able to delete the NTFS partition, in this case boot the machine with the Win2K CD, choose to delete the NTFS partition, create a new one, and format it using FAT, not NTFS and all should be fine.

I tried FDISK, but it said it couldn't delete the NTFS partition. I also tried the CD option, but because Win2k has such limited support it can't detect the ATA100 controller on my ASUS A7V. I don't really want to switch all around because it's a lot of work. More ideas please.

Thanks

Hmmm, you should be able to boot into Win Me installation and when installing, it should say that the hard disk format is invalid and allow you to format. I've never installed Win Me so I wouldn't know but this is the option Win 98 offers.

u cant winthin...u have to delete the partition and make the new one fat32.

and its simple..DO NOT use a WinME bootdisk..

use a win98 boot disk and once u do, it WILL let u reformat.

Another crappy thing about ME.
