Despite all the holy wars, for all my intents and purposes, USB2 is every bit as good as FireWire. Unless you tend to transfer 100's or 1000's MB worth of music at a time on a regular basis, any difference should be negligible. IMO by all means go for the iRiver.

I'm another iTunes hater... I -heart- EphPod, though.

the program does exactly what it's supposed to do, and nothing else.

iTunes has to be the cheesiest piece of software I have used in a long time... WTF happened to Apple and their famed design skills???

The POS displays conflicting messages on my iPOD (okay to disconnect... oh no wait! do not disconnet), locks up randomly and messes up my CDR drive completely...!!
