How do you connect more than 4 IDE devices in a box?

I have a SS7 AMD K6-2 3d 400 with 2 ide slots. I have connected CD, CDR, 2 HDDs. The question has 2 parts:

(i) I am planning to add a ZIP internal drive Do you think I must upgrade to a different platform (Sock A or others) because I am adding too much to a basic system. I do not play games - the only thing I need all these things for is music.

(ii) the second is the question in the subject line.

Nah... all you need is a PCI IDE controller.

Promise controller card, or some other brand. if you have an open PCI slot.
