Well, I've been having trouble with my GeForce2 GTS locking up in 3D games. After installing latest drivers, fans, updating motherboard BIOS, etc, Tyan Corp sent me an e-mail saying I should update my system with the latest 4-in-1 drivers from VIA.

I've gone through the installation process, but can someone explain how/where I can confirm that the installation was successful?

Win 98SE
VIA Apollo Pro chipset
tyan Trinity 400 motherboard

thanks...........

Try to look in your device manager to see if there are any problem devices.
You should also notice after installing it, that your system speed has increased. (especially in benchmarks of course)

cheers

ViaTech Drivers Page

You can get the latest Via 4in1 drivers at the above link....

To check if the drivers are correctly installed just look at file information of the individual
file drivers itself, the version numbers should correspond to the ones in the link above,

for instance, the filename for agp driver is viagart.vxd ( or .dll don't remeber now it can see
the name of the files in the device manager), see the file properties and under the version tag,
see the product version, if it corresponds to the version on the above link you're ok...
for example for the viagart the product version should be 4.0.4 ....

Also, i've heard some rumors that the Geforce2 won't work properly in agp 4x with the via chipset, you should check this also....

The Geforce2 will work in AGP4x mode on Via boards,I`m running that at the moment on my MSI K7T Pro board & so are many other Members here.

I got my Geforce2 MX OC'ed to 200/200 with 4x and the FSB @110. So it is very possible.

.....
The rumors are that the Via Apollo PRO133A Chipset doesn't work well in AGP4x with
Ok ..
the GeForce2... Nvidia by default sets the transfer to AGP2x in its drivers...
.....

That's why we use that "EnableVia4X=1" in the registry tweak.....

.... Please correct me if I'm wrong... always good to learn this stuff...
