I ate a plate of beans covered in pepper with a bag of spicy habanero Doritos topped off with a plate of spicy Indian food for lunch. My entire stomach region has been on fire for the past eight hours and shows no sign of stopping. Help plz.

Put all that into your stomach in a single day, it serves you right to suffer...

Try some Pepsid...works pretty well for me when I abuse the system...

Eat 2 burrito supremes with fire sauce, a texas whopper, and finish it off with a 32 ounce slurpee.

Don't have anything like that. Any common foods that will help? Usually I have milk to help with stomach aches but don't want to risk causing any further damage.

Any food with a basic ph level, milk for example, should help. Hope the heartburn is gone now by the way.

I believe milk is slightly acidic, but the fat in it absorbs stuff.

I used to live on Tums....always carried them with me.... everything gave me heartburn.

Dr put me on Prilosec... I think I've only needed Tums 2-3 times since I started on the Prilosec.

Eat in moderation, chew gum after meals, take ranitidine, lose weight, lift the head of your bed 6 inches, wear looser belts, etc.

Milk can exacerbate heartburn. Yogurt might help although for me it's just neutral.

I rarely ever get heartburn, but when I do, I drink a cup of whole white milk slowly over a period of several minutes, and within a half hour after the milk is finished the heartburn is gone.
