you need a flathead screw driver and push down with that while pushing the clip out to the side just enough to get over the socketA tabs. if you have room to work with, it's really easy to do. but if you dont have room (kt7/a) i suggest you take the power supply out, it'll make your life a lot easier.

yep...
descriptions are difficult to understand without picks...basically just a normal socket A but with 3 tabs on the clip.

Make sure the heatsink is arranged in the right possition...
usually the place where you use the flat screw is toward the edge of the mobo...
(which mobo is it?)

clip the other side on...place is nice and steady on the chip...hold the top down a little to keep it stable and use the flat screwdriver to put pressure downward on the other clip...

push a little outward...until it clears the tab and than lock it in tight...

...hmmi have bad descriptions also...good luck
!

Sorry but if you can't hook up a heatsink you probably should not open your case.

Cosmo3, sorry but if thats all you have to add, don't bother. Have you any idea how many people have chipped there cpus by installing the hsf incorrectly ??? Its a valid question. Remember, there's no such a thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.

Thanks, guys.

I sent out an email to TaiSol's tech support and he basically said that the little hook is for a screw driver. That told me what I needed to know. First, I'll insert the unhooked side, then using the hook, insert that side. Common sense dictates that I keep surface contacts flat and square to avoid pressure to points that can crack. I'm only worried that the screw driver can slip.
