I've a Microsoft Intellimouse, the old one where it still runs on a mouse ball. Buttons and all are still working great. But the scroller is like stuck. I opened the mouse up before, but I couldn't find a way to get the scroll to move smoothly again. Any ideas guys?

Don't feel like buying a new mouse. hhehe.

I usually take a tack and just scrape out the lint. Takes a couple of minutes to get it nice and clean but it does the trick quite well.

I wipe the ball with a damp towel, and I use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol to clean the rollers.

that and I also use a thick vinyl scraper to get the gunk off that doesn't easily come off with a q-tip. (heavy duty cable ties work well. Just make sure it's vinyl, you don't want to score the rollers.)

Use a sharp pointed object, scrape the gunk/lint off the rolling thingy.

Or buy an optical mouse.... I love 'em.
