how do you clean the inside of a rice cooker?

so someone left rice in there, the whole cooker smells like rotten food. i paid $100 for this thing, and i really hope we can save it.

any suggestions?

Fill it with water and leave it for a day. Rice should come off without a problem.

take it out of your house...dump it in a dumpster or something...
then disinfect like mad.

i'd clr it....then bleach it...then cleaner...then soap...then crazy rinse...
done!

Make a mixture of bleach and water, and fill the cooker with it. Let it sit for a few hours, then clean it normally.

sorry, let me clarify, the part that holds the rice is fine. it's the whole cooker that stinks. are you guys saying I can fill the actual cooker with water?

No, we're all talking about the pot that holds the rice.

If it's the outside, have you tried bleach or vinegar?

In that case, just fill a spray bottle with the water & bleach solution and spray the body of the rice cooker a light coating of the mixture.

Let it sit for a while, then wipe up as much as you can.

Make sure you let everything dry before plugging it back in.
