How do you clean the CD's laser?

There are these disks they sell with little brushes on them. You stick them inand let them run for 30 seconds or so and the brushes are supposed to clean the dust and stuff off your lens.
 
You can buy CD Laser cleaners; they're just CD's with a small brush attached that cleans off the laser. Picked mine up at a local department store.
