I made the painful mistake of neglecting to wash the bug guts immediately after my driver, instead letting the guts bake on for a good week and a half. Now it's almost impossible to clean them off... best advice I can find is to use WD40 which really doesn't do anything much. Just leaves a greasy mess but the bug guts remain.

Got any tips?

lol I'll never be able to clean all of the bug guts off of my car. I would spend a nontrivial fortune trying to keep my car clean if I was worried about that. I live in the country... I probably kill thousands of bugs with my car every day.

Car wash works just fine, but then again I don't let the car sit in the sun so the guts can bake.

I use a dryer sheet for the front bumper. They just wipe away.

Pretreat the area Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover or Rain-X Bug and Tar remover - then spray with water. For the stuff that won't come off, use a clay bar with lube (quick detailer).

I think all the fancy chemicals mentioned use kerosene as the base, so you might want to try that.
