How do you Chrome plastic?

Well i'm in the process of trying to make a custom fan grill for my super lan boy case. I saw the orac case and how the guy got hsi acrylic chromed, i'm just wonder how this is done as i work for a chrome shop and we have no clue how to do it. It simpley would just melt. Ideas?

Buy some Krylon paint!:p
I seriously doubt that grill that you're talking about was plastic, as plastic cannot be chromed like metal

look at all the sites on the case/modding guide thread- the one w/ the sticky i believe a few of those modding sites show how you do that

You could try powdercoating it (serious longshot here but might be worth looking into). Check your area for a good powdercoating shop that has a chrome or metallic silver in stock. I used to think only metal could pe powdercoated but the place I used for my metal art was powdercoating WOOD one day while I was there.

Here is another option but something like a grill would be a real pain in the ass I think.

Oh it was acrylic aka plastic 100% sure, i'd link you to the case but i dont have the time right now sorry. Thanks though painman that looks like a very good solution.

Yeah, it took them quite a while to come up with a realistic plating on plastic. i don't think it is something a person could do at home...

From what i've read of spray on chrome it's impossible to geta mirror finish as it's the hardest color to get streak free.
