How do you check your RAM's stock timings?

I have a ram from a year ago.. I do not kno it's stock timings and its speed...
What i did was to go to bios and set RAM [speed/auto] and i set it to speed and read what timings and speed it gave me...
so, is the bios giving me the correct numbers or is there a better way?
