how do you change your windows cd key?

I installed windows with an evaluation cd key and just bought a legit copy, how do you change your key?

that might not work, as he may be running a corporate edition of xp, rather than the OEM, which should change the activation setup somewhat....

easiest bet is to reinstall with the legitimate media and legitimate key

If it's anything like the eval I had, it's legitimate (not "corporate") and not a volume licensed product (I still have to activate).

Wouldn't see why "oobe/msoobe /a" would not work (just run from the command line); [edit]: in retrospect, it does depend on which version the new license copy is.

You could always call Microsoft as well.
